At Bad Hombre Imports, we believe in mezcal with meaning. We source ethically produced Mexican spirits crafted by families who honor tradition, sustainability, and fair wages. Our goal is to uplift independent producers and challenge an industry dominated by large corporations and celebrity-backed brands, many of which exploit labor and deplete Mexico’s natural resources.
We know that ethically made agave spirits aren’t the cheapest option, but behind every bottle is a story of culture and community. Take Agua del Sol, a cooperative that ensures a 12% annual profit share for its producer partners. Or Yuku Savi, which has teamed up with UNAM students and local agro-ecologists to reforest endemic plant species and financially empower rural communities. These aren’t just spirits; they’re a movement.
And now, we’re inviting you to be part of something even bigger.
Sip with Purpose
With everything happening—the recent fires in LA, an unpredictable economy—we know times are tough. Restaurants and bars are feeling the impact, and many in our community are looking for ways to help. That’s why we’re proud to announce a partnership with Agua del Sol and Madre Mezcaleria: for every bottle of Agua del Sol Mexicano sold, we’re donating $5 to Al Otro Lado, a nonprofit providing free legal services to migrants on both sides of the US-Mexico border.
This particular bottle is one that means a lot to us. Produced by a father-and-son team in Miahuatlán, Oaxaca (who themselves spent time in California before returning home to focus on mezcal) it embodies resilience and tradition. This 2023 Mexicano is a unique ensamble of two A. Rhodacantha varieties: Mexicano Verde, with its large piñas and sweet, earthy notes, and Mexicano Azul, a smaller, greener varietal that lends a mild bitterness. Bottled at 48%, it’s exactly how Raúl and his father intended it—bold, balanced, and full of character. Order yours here!
If you’re in Oregon, you can place your order at 11th Ave. Liquor.
Drink Better, Not More
In times like these, health and well-being come first. We’re not here to encourage drinking more; we’re here to encourage drinking better—supporting spirits made with care, by people who care.
